Bayanihan: Filipinos Path To Resiliency

The most common trait that almost all Filipinos are known for is their community spirit. Us Filipinos, it is only natural for us to help each other, when helping others, Filipinos don’t need to think twice. Bayanihan. Bayanihan is a Filipino word that means an act of coming together and helping one another. In some cases, bayanihan could be depicted by a group of people moving a nipa house together.

Because Philippines is a part of the Ring of Fire, disasters are very susceptible. After these disasters, what we do is to get back up to our feet. During these times, this is where Filipinos show their Bayanihan. Filipinos around the country donate food to those who are in need. Through Bayanihan we can be more resilient.

Despite Filipinos being known for their Bayanihan, there are still some of them who refuse to cooperate with their peers, instead of talking it out nicely, they result to hatred towards one another. Sure, there are some instances that the other does not align with the idea of another, but this shouldn't lead to hatred towards one another, they should talk it out nicely and propose a truce, in this way, it can strengthen or boost our resilience during trying times.

Coming together is a factor of strengthening our resilience. So that during trying times, we can stand tall and strong and proudly be a country who can overcome many challenges.
